Attorneys are not business experts. The need for
professionals to collaborate for the benefit of their
clients has never been more apparent.
Attorneys are just one example of the
plethora (large number) of professionals
striving to optimize
services on behalf of clients.
Attorneys want us to believe they are the
solution to every legal problem. They are not.
FACT: Problems are bigger than attorneys. How?
"The access-to-justice crisis is bigger than law and lawyers. It is a crisis of exclusion and inequality." 1
Just ask an attorney, any attorney, to give you a written
guarantee that he/she will win your case. They never will.
Why? Because they don’t know what a judge, jury or
participating parties will do before they actually do it.
"Although your chances of success can't be guaranteed, discuss approaches to your case." 2
FACT: Attorneys are trained according to their
chosen interests. Never assume an attorney to
know everything about the law, they don’t. Some
struggle mightily in their
own area of specialization.
"While law firms usually offer some on boarding and training, there is a certain amount of floundering and learning on the job that has been par for the course for generations..." 3
Do we dislike attorneys or lawyers? No.
Some of them are
family, close friends, former employers and admired
professionals. In fact, if they are qualified and
necessary, we may elect to hire them.
"Choosing the right law firm can be a vital decision," said Tim Smart, executive editor at U.S. News & World Report." 4
In our Director's role as a Bank Liquidation Officer
with the
FDIC, it was his responsibility to retain and release
attorneys
on a regular basis in order to protect taxpayer interests
(failed bank assets.)
Failed bank assets were liquidated with goals and
objectives
to maximize taxpayer values while introducing new
legislation to protect bank depositors.
"The Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 (DIDMCA) phased out deposit interest-rate ceilings, broadened the powers of thrift institutions, and raised the deposit insurance limit from $40,000 to $100,000." 5
FACT: Demands on the legal profession are far
greater than courts and officers of the court
(attorneys) can handle.
"Corporate reliance on non-law firm competitors has been increasing, the report found, and alternative legal service providers are increasingly being used by law firms themselves—65% of big law firms used them for e-discovery services, 52% used them for litigation and investigations support, and 50% used them for legal research services." 6
FACT: For decades, attorneys have done
everything in their power to protect their
perceived professional domain,
consumer demand has overwhelmed them.
Smart attorneys
recognize that they are not alone in the
professional realm,
they can’t solve every problem, nor should they try.
"Today’s savvy legal consumer doesn’t need attorneys the way they used to because they don’t buy legal services the way they used to." 7
FACT: Our Director studied law at a highly
regarded Colorado college of law and teamed
with attorneys to conduct legal research,
investigations and settlement negotiations.
"The simple truth is that specialization leads to exceptional work. For that reason, we recommend outsourcing your legal research needs to an outside provider..." 8
FACT: Many wonderful people that deserve help
are falling through the cracks because attorney's
financial demands are either too high or they’re
turned away in frustration because
the attorney doesn’t see an opportunity to make
enough money. Folks, many attorneys see profit
and loss, debit and credit, revenue or expense. If
your situation is outside their preference, they are
going to turn you away.
"One of the most perplexing facts about our perplexing legal market is its failure to provide affordable services for just about anyone but rich people and corporations." 9
FACT: We are members of the business community
collaborating with other professionals to bring rarely
accessible resources to consumers that need help.
"Advances in technology such as artificial intelligence allow modern software to scan legal documents, streamline communications and find relevant casework for lawyers. McKinsey estimates that 23% of work done by lawyers can be automated by existing technology." 10
FACT: Many consumers that make a law
office their first stop
in seeking a solution to a problem leave
frustrated and angry.
Why? They’re told they have to pay a retainer
they can’t afford, they’re told they don’t
have a case or in a worst case
scenario, they hire the wrong attorney, it
costs far too much money and the problem
never gets resolved or they end up
with an unfavorable result.
'We value our work because it is a genuine opportunity to help
people. Let's say that again, we value our work because
it is a genuine opportunity to help people.'
Every project we accept is a serious responsibility.
Our business ethics and respect for the law are above
reproach.
"Rather than a shortage of people who need lawyers, what we are seeing is a disgraceful failure of our legal system to meet the serious legal needs of most Americans, who are increasingly priced out of the market for legal services." 11
FACT: Our founder, Douglas Rodriguez, studied in-person on
campus and earned a graduate degree in 2017
MBA (Master of Business Administration)
from one of the finest business universities
in the United States,
Kansas State University
College of Business Administration
According to U.S. News and World Report there are 4, 298 degree granting universities in the U.S. In 2020 Kansas State University ranks #76 among top public schools and #162
among national universities. 12
Leading universities verify information provided by
prospective students prior admitting
them. We bring that assurance to our clients. 13
Moreover, our founder didn’t shy
away because others saw
the path forward as impossible.
Why? Because making a
positive difference in the lives
of people matters. Helping
people is our business purpose,
our mission.
Please join us to 'Fight the Good Fight.'
